Perks, Awards, Timing Results
Be Safe - HYDRATE:
One of the best things you can do in preparation for the Texas Too Hot is to drink plenty of water in the days and weeks leading up to this summer’s hottest race. And with the 100 degree temperatures you should be plenty thirsty.
Race Shirt & Cap:
All runners will receive a sleeveless New Balance technical race shirt and the first 400 to pick up their packets will also receive a white race cap. Shirts will be distributed with packet pickup. Requested shirt sizes will be available while supplies last.
Event Day Photography:
Andrew Wolfe Photography will be present on race day to capture participants as they cross the finish line. Check back after race day for a link to your photos available for purchase. In the meantime, check out Andrew Wolfe Photography.
Texas Too Hot will be timed this year using Chronotrack D-Tags. To be included in the results and eligible for an award, you must wear their D-Tag properly on your shoe. Your D-Tag will be attached to your bib when you pick it up with your packet. Remove it and follow the instructions printed on the tag itself. It's important that you only bend the D-Tag in the proper place. Bending it across the chip will disable it, and it won't be read when you start or finish. Here are additional instructions with pictures.
Awards: You must wear a Chronotrack D-Tagto be eligible for awards for both the 5K and 15K, and awards will be based on chip time, so you will not be penalized for starting in the middle of the pack. Your D-Tag will be attached to your bib. Be sure to wear it properly. Awards will be given in the following categories.
- 1st overall male & female in the 5K & 15K
- 1st overall male & female master in the 5K & 15K
- Top 3 females & males 5K & 15K in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
