Each month we feature one of our staff members.
This month we invite you to meet ...
Meagan, Sales Associate at Stone Oak
There I was, in seventh grade, on the first day of athletics sitting on the gym floor. All the head coaches of their sports were holding signs with their sport on it: basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, etc. It would be the first time I played sports competitively. Everyone I knew picked a sport with a ball, and lord knows I have no hand-eye coordination. Therefore, the only logical choice was to run cross country and track. There were only about six girls sitting with the cross country coach and one of them was me.
As a child I would host track meets in my front yard with my friends and my sister. My sister was the sprinter, but I could go the distance. I ran cross country from 7th-12th grade. I was on the Varsity team all four years of my high school career and loved every minute of it.
I did not run cross-country in college, but continued to run on my own because I enjoy it. Running has always been my stress reliever. I haven’t run many races or achieved many outstanding awards as a runner in my adult years, but running has always been a part of me and its “my thing”.
I recently graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio and I am in the process of applying to nursing school. I love serving others and that is why I love working at iRun and being a part of the iRun family. Not only do I get to work at a running store, and talk about everything running entails, but I get to help others achieve their goals, and that is awesome.
